Color, Culture as Nana Fatima Weds Hamza In Lokoja

It was celebration galore in Lokoja on Saturday as family, friends, and well-wishers thronged Karaworo Street to witness the wedding Fatiha of Nana Fatima Usman and Bala Abubakar Hamza.

The solemn Islamic rites were concluded after the groom, Hamza, fulfilled the bride price obligation with the payment of a ₦100,000 dowry.

Clerics prayed for the success of the union, urging the couple to live together in peace, patience, and mutual respect.

The occasion was graced by dignitaries, including the representative of the Maigari of Lokoja and several traditional title holders, whose presence underscored the cultural importance of the event.

Their participation added prestige to the ceremony, reflecting the communal bond that characterizes weddings in Lokoja.

Also in attendance were the Old Students of Ogori/Magongo Teachers’ College, Ogori, led by Nnda Umar, who came in their numbers to felicitate with the couple and identify with the families.

Their presence added color and camaraderie to the joyous occasion.

The event, which attracted a large turnout, was marked by colorful traditional attire, warm greetings, and an atmosphere of joy.

Music and cultural displays further enriched the day’s celebrations.

In an appreciation message, the bride’s father, Bala Yahya Usman, thanked all who attended, describing the love and support shown as overwhelming.

He prayed for God’s blessings upon everyone who identified with them.

The groom, Hamza, also expressed gratitude to guests, saying their presence and goodwill would forever be remembered.

He pledged to uphold the values of love and respect in his new home.

The wedding climaxed with a lively reception where guests were treated to traditional delicacies and entertainment, as the Lokoja community celebrated the union of the young couple.
