Suspected political thugs on Wednesday attacked and destroyed the Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Eyewitnesses told reporters that the hoodlums stormed the Secretariat in the early hours, vandalizing offices, scattering documents, and destroying furniture and party materials. They were said to have operated for several minutes without resistance.
Residents described the incident as disturbing, noting that it has heightened tension in the community.
“This is shocking. They broke into the Secretariat, smashed chairs, tables and windows, and tore down the party’s banners,” a witness recounted.
Leaders of the ADC in Dekina condemned the attack, calling it an attempt to intimidate their members. They appealed to security agencies to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.
The police are yet to issue an official statement as at the time of filing this report.
