The former Lokoja local government council Director of Local Government Administration, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar on Monday held a special prayer in nour of her late husband, Alhaji Angulu Abubakar Sule who died on 2, December, 2014.
Nationalwatch Tv reports that late Angulu Abubakar Sule was until his death a Rotarian.
At the event, Muslims were admonished to always prepare for death by striving to live a righteous life.
A renowned Islamic scholar, Justice Mohammed Bello who led other Islamic clerics during the prayer said the essence of remembering death regularly by Muslims, is to stay focused on the ultimate goal of pleasing Almighty Allah and attaining Paradise.
The cleric noted that death should be seen as a moment of accountability, where every individual will be judged based on their faith and actions.
He stressed that late Angulu Abubakar Sule lived a fulfilled life because he practiced the religion of Islam wholeheartedly during his lifetime
In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Ete, Alhaji Muhamodu Wandana, said every human being is vulnerable to death and in Islam, there is nothing like sudden death because every faithful is expected to prepare for death daily.
Wandana described the demise of Angulu Abubakar Sule as a colossal loss for the people of Lokoja and Kogi LGAs.
He also described the late Rotarian as lover of masses who used his life to uplift and empower his people.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban had led other Islamic scholars in praying for the repose of the soul of Angulu Abubakar Sule.
Present at the event were former Chairman, Lokoja local government council, Hon. Lawal Shiru, members of
the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), top government officials and Islamic Clerics.
